SCSC-Unpacking the New Arkansas Social Studies Standards



This session will deliver an interactive and informative session for teachers and specialists, in which an overview of the latest social studies revisions are presented, followed by opportunities for teachers to unpack and deep dive into these standards in content groups. Small-group discussions and collaboration will empower teachers to prioritize student-center teaching approaches while identifying and examining key social studies content and thinking skills into their curriculum. Time will be allotted for different providers to showcase their social studies resources as well as opportunities for teachers and specialists to begin developing unit and lesson plans.

For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any training.
