Prerequisite: Year 1 Take Flight Training
Take Flight is a two-year curriculum written by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. It is designed for use by Certified Academic Language Therapists for individuals with dyslexia ages seven to adult. This two-year program is designed to be taught four days a week (60 minutes per day) or five days a week (45 minutes per day). It is intended for one-on-one or small group instruction with six or less students.
Year 2 Take Flight training is the second year of training. After the successful completion of the two year therapist training program (200 hours of instructional training, 10 demonstration videos and 700 hours of therapy clinical teaching using the program), graduates are eligible to take The National Alliance Registration Exam to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). Master's Degree is required in order to take the Exam.
