WDMESC: SPED Due Process for NT
This training is appropriate for novice special educators and special educators who want to
review their understanding of basic special education due process procedures. Training will
include Child Find requirements, handling referrals for special education evaluation, the
evaluation, programming, placement process, as well as writing IEPs that are legally
defensible. Attention will be paid to timeline requirements, ways to encourage and include
parents meaningfully in the IEP process, and collaborating with regular education teachers.
