AFESC-Traumatic Brain Injury or Acquired Brain Injury: The Keys to Effective Adjustments, Effective Instructional Strategies, and Supports for the Learner and School Districts

Join Joanna as she shows you how to develop an effective way to help students, teachers, and school district teams to adjust after a student is identified with a traumatic brain injury or acquired brain injury. The Arch Ford Education Cooperative and Arkansas Brain Injury Support Program mission is to promote positive outcomes for students with brain injury by providing leadership, support, and service to students with brain injury, their families, and the districts who serve them. Through interactive activities, group sharing, and guided handouts, educators will leave this workshop empowered to get back in their school districts and help students adjust correctly and return to learn properly after a brain injury. Effective Brain Injury Adjustment documents, Return to Learn (REAP) resources, and instructional strategies will be discussed and reviewed.

This session will address instructional strategies most appropriate for the following levels of instruction:

Tier 1, 2, 3
