This workshop is designed for all teachers in the Wilbur D Mills Cooperative Region who are entering their third year of teaching. During this time, the novice teacher will:
* Meet and build a relationships with WDMESC R&R Department
* Meet and build relationships with other novices teaching in like areas
* Learn about the expectations and requirements of the Novice Teacher Mentoring Program
* Receive guidance and support for being “Day 1 Ready” for the Classroom
* Build a Success Plan and receive teacher licensure support (if needed)
* Receive strategies for developing grit, passion, and perseverance in the workplace
*Examine the Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators which holds educators accountable to a high standard of professionalism both inside and outside the classroom.
*Discover the importance of The Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators and how it assists current and prospective educators in becoming knowledgeable of how their professionalism decision-making affects the well-being and safety of students while supporting the culture and mission of their schools.
Build on their current understanding of Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching by taking a deeper look into Danielson's Cluster 6 (Professionalism)
**Melissa Jacks from DESE/ADE will be onsite in the afternoon to assist any novice teacher with questions or needs relating to licensure pathways. Courtney Hines and Jackie Starks will also be available in the afternoon for any additional support needed relating to classroom readiness, Praxis study help, or general readiness.
