Early intervention/Early Childhood Special Education and general education for children with disabilities can have a positive impact on a child's cognitive and social development. Inclusion for early childhood programs supports the right of all children, regardless of abilities, to participate actively in natural settings within their communities. Natural settings include, but are not limited to: home, preschool, nursery school, Arkansas Better Chance Programs, Head Start program, kindergarten, neighborhood/community, school classroom, child care center, faith based centers, and other settings that young children attend. Participants will be given strategies, high quality instructional insights from the BASIC Inclusive Practice from the University of Denver that has been utilized in Arkansas. Arch Ford regional preschool partnered with DESE and University of Denver to continue inclusive practice in Arkansas. Case studies will be reviewed on how therapists, general education, and special educators provide therapy in the classroom to support the student with disabilities.
