Place-based learning is the practice of using place and geo-relevant resources as a launching point for learning across the disciplines of ELA, arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. Quilt making is an art that is practiced in many cultures as an expression of utility and creativity. It is historically significant, is strongly connected to geometry, and is often a means of storytelling. Join us for this interactive STEAM session and explore opportunities to use the art of quilt making to engage your students in learning that is fun while leveraging connections to their community, culture, and interests. This session will be at the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council conference room at 200 East Division Street, Hope, AR.
