Join us for a day of learning and sharing with Spanish teachers from across the state. The first part of the day will focus on Chat Mats. Chat Mats provide the necessary vocabulary words to help students create language in all three modes: interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communication, but are most often used to aid in practical conversation. Teachers will walk away with ideas to incorporate chat mat activities in the Foreign Language Classroom. Examples of chat mat activities will be presented. Teachers will receive information on where to find ready made chat mats and also information on where to find templates.
The second part of the day will focus on sharing lesson plans and ideas. Teachers will be asked to share via Google a favorite lesson or idea with the group. How we can make foreign language instruction an important part of the school day. Be prepared to share out your lesson and share resources. This session is designed to help teachers create a supportive network across the state.
