DSC Unlocking Student Success: What they don't teach teens workshop: Helping kids navigate street and digital safety and sexual violence in Today's dangerous world.
Join us for an engaging and empowering one-day professional development workshop designed to equip educators with the knowledge, strategies, and tools to address crucial topics often overlooked in traditional curricula. Inspired by the book "What They Don't Teach Teens" by Jonathan Cristall
This workshop will provide you with valuable insights and practical approaches to guide students towards personal growth, resilience, and success in life. Workshop Highlights: ? Gain a deeper understanding of the importance of teaching life skills and emotional intelligence in schools. ? Explore the three essential topics covered in "What They Don't Teach Teens" Dealing with the Police and Street Safety, Sexual Violence and Misconduct, and Staying Safer Online. ? Collaborate with fellow educators in dynamic small group discussions and idea-sharing sessions. ? Learn how to facilitate engaging activities, case studies, role-playing exercises, and guest speaker sessions (speakers: law enforcement and crimes against children professionals) to enhance student learning and engagement. ? Develop personalized action plans tailored to your unique teaching context. Our experienced facilitators will guide you through interactive sessions that foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment. By the end of the workshop, you will have the skills and confidence to address critical life skills that will empower your students to navigate challenges, make informed decisions, and thrive beyond the classroom.
Target Audience: This is for all teachers but would be of special interest to Criminal Justice instructors, Law Enforcement Instructors, Security Resource Officers, Life Skills instructors, Counselors, Principals, and Administration.
