WDMESC: Special Education Finance a Year at a Glance
Josh Hart, DESE-OSE Funding and Finance, will provide an in-depth overview of the responsibilities of Local Education Agencies in relation to Special Education funds. Participants will learn the why and how on topics including June 1 application, maintenance of effort, excess cost, private school proportionate share, budget amendments, CEIS/CCEIS, ARP IDEA supplemental funds and allowable expenses. Updates will be provided on the following areas: Supporting Inclusive Practices with Special Education Funds, new fiscal forms and Fiscal Monitoring. Attendees should bring technology to access MySped, the
DESE website, local budgets and ask district specific finance questions.
