GFESC Rockin' Geo-Float Trip on Lake Ouachita

Join the adventure on a Lake Ouachita barge trip as we explore the geology of Arkansas. We will observe various folded and fractured formations, geologic structures, and rock types and compare them to the geographic regions found in Arkansas. Content and lessons will be provided enabling participating teachers to take activities, lessons, and information back to the classroom. The experience and content gained by the participants will allow them to effectively instruct students on these important and required state standards. Participants will be provided six hours of PD credit, two of which will be Arkansas studies. The workshop will last all day so bring a sack lunch and dress appropriately to be outside on the boat. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and something to drink bring are encouraged.
