DSC Marina's Story from EiE at Garvan Gardens

Learn how to bring your Science instruction outside to celebrate the delicate ecosystem of pollination at the spectacular Garvan Woodland Gardens. The “Mariana Becomes a Butterfly” text from EiE will be the jumping off point. Engineering is Elementary has a Unit of Study called the Best of Bugs that will be the template for the day. Each teacher attending will get the EiE official “Try it Kit” of supplies that would be enough for 3-4 classrooms of students. The Gardens Director of Education will guide the group on a tour of the Gardens. There will be a special showing of newly developed garden sites dedicated to outdoor learning. You may bring a sack lunch and beverage in a drawstring back sack or meals are available to purchase at the Chipmunk Cafe. Don’t forget to wear cool, comfortable clothes, shoes, sunglasses & sunscreen. Registered educators may attend for free. All other guests and children must pay full price on the day of the event.
