NEA - Teaching about the Holocaust

This workshop will consist of an overview of The Holocaust, designed to provide participants historical knowledge of significant events unfolding from 1933 to 1945, along with appropriate background and understanding of where, when, how and why these events that make up the Holocaust occurred. Additionally, educators will be asked to consider the roles and responses of perpetrators, victims, collaborators, bystanders, and rescuers.  Topics that will be covered are Nazi Germany, War Expansion, Rescue, Resistance, Liberation, and Lessons of the Holocaust.

This workshop is designed to prepare and assist Arkansas public school teachers to fulfill the 2021 state mandate that all schools will teach about the Holocaust in grades 5-12 (Act 611).

If you are not under contract with the Northeast Arkansas Education Cooperative or one of our 14 member districts, you will be responsible for all fees related to this workshop.  The fee for this training is $25.  Payment is expected the day of the training unless prior arrangements have been made.
