AFESC-ARNCTA Presents: Teaching Korea in a Global World-VIRTUAL

From Buddhism to K-Pop, the Korean peninsula has long played an important role in the globalization of popular culture, yet even as Korean cultural exports occupy an increasingly central space in our students' lives, Korea itself remains marginal in many world history and civics curricula. This virtual workshop provides teachers with digital resources and concrete strategies to center Korea within world history, literature, and comparative government courses, offering a rich political, social, and historical context behind the music groups, TV dramas, and popular brands that make up the “Korean wave.” Benefits Include: 6 hours PD Credit; Classroom-ready digital materials for teaching Korean history and culture; 2 FREE Books from the ARNCTA library; Priority registration for future ARNCTA events.

Hybrid Format: 3 hours synchronous workshop via zoom (8:30 - 11:30) + 3 hours asynchronous material via Google Classroom
