SCSC Strategic Reading: Day 3 "Understanding and Using Words to Comprehend and Communicate Effectively"



In Strategic Reading: Day 3, participants will engage in activities around word meaning, not only for comprehension, but to communicate effectively in written and oral speech. Topics will revolve around grade-level Strategic Reading Vocabulary standards including the following topics: multiple-meaning words, words in isolation and in context, morphological features, word choice to affect style and tone, etc.
NOTE: Participants should bring digital devices, HQIM, pacing guides, and any other materials needed to plan for an upcoming Strategic Reading module.

Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any training.
