DSC Tigers & STEM: CHEM Day
Teachers are invited to bring 4-5 students to join in the fun to celebrate National Chemistry Week! This event is scheduled prior to the actual week so these experiments/activities can be taken back to the classroom for October 20-26th. Investigations will center on “Picture Perfect” the theme and how color/photography and light relate to Chemistry. Teachers will get training in chemical usage and disposal. Ouachita Baptist University, the OBU American Chemical Society (ACS) and Dawson Educational Cooperative will sponsor the day. Learn about the opportunities for teachers through the American Association of Chemistry Teachers (AACT). Students and teachers will get to work in a college lab and be introduced to current instructional practices at the collegiate level. Lunch will be provided. Presenters are: Susan Allison, Sharon Hamilton, Sara Hubbard and Burt Hollandsworth
Important Session Information:
Teachers bring devices and sign up on a Google form provided by Susan Allison. There is a $50 fee for non-consortium schools. For more information on this workshop, contact Susan Allison at susan.allison@dawsonesc.com.
