AFESC-Arch Ford Math Interventionist Institute
The Arch Ford Math Interventionist Institute is a new offering at Arch Ford designed to support interventionists. This collaboration is being designed to help math Interventionists and leaders navigate the changes in Arkansas Education that pertain to the Learns Act, intervention practices and strategies, and assessment. Our goal is to equip interventionists with the tools, strategies, and knowledge necessary to provide targeted and impactful support to students.
The program will cover a wide range of topics essential to fostering student growth in mathematics, including:
1. Effective Intervention Strategies: Participants will explore research-based strategies that address diverse learning needs, helping students grasp challenging concepts and improve mathematical proficiency. These strategies are aimed at fostering student engagement and promoting long-term retention of material.
2. Understanding Key Laws and Requirements: The training will provide an in-depth overview of relevant educational laws, including state initiatives such as the LEARNS Act. Participants will learn how these laws impact intervention practices and the importance of ensuring compliance with legal requirements when supporting students with special needs.
3. Data-Driven Decision Making: Interventionists will also analyze how to use student data effectively to tailor interventions, monitor progress, and make informed instructional decisions. This will include guidance on analyzing assessment results and developing action plans to meet individual student goals.
4. Collaboration and Communication: Participants will engage in discussion with, and support, other interventionists. This institute will provide time to brainstorm, collaborate, and question other interventionists and math leaders, so regardless of years of experience, all are welcome.
