Gifted Education Institute

- Session 4:  Underrepresented Populations




Participants will:

  • Discuss identification processes that consider the environmental opportunities and factors of students from underrepresented populations.
  • Identify the difference between urban versus rural gifted children and how instructional practices could be adapted to support their needs.
  • Identify the differences between gifted children of poverty versus non poverty households and how instructional practices could be adapted to support their needs.
  • Identify the differences among children from culturally and linguistically diverse background and how instructional practices could be adapted to support their needs.
  • Identify the unique needs of gifted females and how instructional practices could be adapted to support their needs.

Important Session Information:


In preparing for the new Ohio Department of Education's Gifted Operating Standards, Hamilton County Educational Service Center will offer a Gifted Education Institute. Participants will receive specialized training in gifted education competencies during these interactive sessions. Participants may accumulate up to the 30 required contact hours by attending the sessions listed below and completing a "Putting Theory into Practice" implementation plan.

FEES

$109 for a single session or register for all four sessions for $100 each using promocode foursessions.

Team of 4 or more:  attending one session for $99 using promocode teamof4 or a team of 4 or more register for all four sessions for $90 each using promocode teamof4all.

Time: 8:00 am-3:30 pm (Lunch on your own)
