Tier 2 & 3 Reading Interventions

- Audience:  Grades K-6 general education teachers (ELA), Intervention Specialists, Co-Teaching teams, and relevant support staff


Participants will:

  • identify the characteristics of effective reading interventions for Tier 2 and 3.
  • understand how to measure the ‘intervention integrity’ of a Tier 2/3 reading intervention.
  • explore school-wide screening tools to identify students and progress monitor Tier 2/3 interventions.

Important Session Information:

What are good interventions? How are they best implemented? The primary goal of this one day workshop is to increase participant understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RtI).

Participants will become familiar with the essential components of effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 reading interventions. In addition, they will have the opportunity to develop interventions and a create a plan for implementing them consistently.
