Adding Value to Social Studies Instruction

- K-12 educators, administrators, and instructional coaches

  • Develop inquiry-based tasks to add value to social studies instruction.

Important Session Information:

Value-added is a complex issue for social studies due to a lack of testing data or data points that don't seem to compare nicely. So an approach to adding value requires social studies educators to use the power of standards and inquiry approaches. Are you interested in promoting social studies as the "value-add?" This session transcends Ohio's tests to help educators craft practices that will both add value and promote social studies.

NOTE: Tentatively, this session is scheduled as a Zoom meeting. Once registered and before the session date, you will receive a Zoom link and password for the session. If you do not receive the link or have other questions, please email allison.curran@hcesc.org.

As a Zoom session, we will utilize break-out rooms and strategic pauses for participants to process and plan for their individual situations.
