Quiet: The Power of Gifted Introverts, Online Podcast Study

The above specialized learning session in gifted education meets the following competencies outlined by The Ohio Department of Education:

  • Ability to understand the social and emotional needs of students who are gifted and to address the impact of those needs on student learning.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to characteristics and needs of students from traditionally underrepresented populations who are gifted and create safe and culturally responsive learning environments

Important Session Information:


Studies report that up to 75% of the highly gifted are introverts. Join Dr. Nicole Dietrich to explore the curious link between introversion and giftedness and the unique challenges that students who are both gifted and introverted may face.

In this asynchronous, individually paced, online podcast study and discussion board participants can earn up to 10 gifted HQPD hours. Quiet: The Power of Introverts with Susan Cain is a podcast where the voices of quiet kids are heard. Hosted and produced by Susan Cain and their partner Panoply, the podcast focuses on giving parents and educators the tools to empower quiet kids. Expect to learn about how caregivers and schools can better understand and support introverts, how the changing landscape of social media impacts quiet children, the neuroscience of introversion, and more. You'll also hear sound advice from Susan and experts in education and parenting.
