Have students that are interested in Biology but don't get what Engineering is all about? Or the opposite - students interested in Engineering but not Biology? What about you? Help your students to see how the two areas strengthen one another. This three-day event focusing on content makes it easy for students to draw connections between biology, engineering, and technology and will help you put the Science & Engineering Practices in action in your classroom.
The Biology Meets Engineering curriculum has been written by a team of professors at the University of Cincinnati. The professional development will equip you to use these novel units in your classroom. You will learn about how the study of sensory biology can be used to improve robotics. No prior experience is required.
This session will be held on the University of Cincinnati Campus, Dept Biological Sciences, Rieveschl Hall. Details on parking and room numbers will be emailed as time gets closer. Please register using an email address that you will check regularly over the summer.
NOTE: Space is limited. Priority is given to teachers in school districts that are committed to the NSF grant stipulations through which this PD is being funded.
