On Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at 12:00 pm, Region 18 Education Service Center will welcome Attorney, Ronn P. Garcia, of the Underwood Law Firm, to provide some very timely and relevant information to school districts during the “Lunch with Lawyers” series offered through ESC 18. 

This session will be a continuance, Part II if you will, to the important information that Mr. Garcia provided as part of the March 7, 2018 session, which focused on School Safety Measures and Student Threats in public schools.  Since that time, as recently as a few days ago, the Texas Governor and the Texas Education Agency has provided additional information and resources for school districts and service centers to assist them in their continued efforts of making Texas public school campuses as safe as possible.   Such resources include: (1) information on immediately improving campus security; (2) free training opportunities; and (3) federal funding opportunities, specifically for school safety. 

This session is ideal for superintendents, assistant superintendents, managers/directors, principals, and assistant principals, and other staff that may deal with campus safety and security measures.
