Introduction to the K-TEA -3, Overview of the WRMT -III and Introduction to the Shaywitz DyslexiaScreen

This session will provide an introduction to the updated Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement™, Third Edition. The KTEA™3 is an individually administered battery for ages 4 through 25 that gives you a flexible, thorough assessment of the key academic skills in reading, math, written language, and oral language. This session will also provide an overview of the Woodcock Reading Mastery tests, Third Edition. This session will highlight the key changes in the instrument, including the addition of tests such as Phonological Awareness, Rapid Automatic Naming, Listening Comprehension, and Oral Reading Fluency. The Shaywitz Dyslexia Screen is a brief teacher rating form of observed reading-related behaviors of students in kindergarten through Grade 2. It is an excellent tool for early identification of children at risk for reading difficulties and dyslexia. This session will examine administration, scoring, and reporting options, along with key features of the instrument. Participants will also receive information about a Dyslexia Toolkit White Paper developed by Pearson to assist schools in the identification of Dyslexia.
