Essential Standards and Assessment Design

Wiggins and McTighe (2011) say, "To ensure validity of your assessment, design backward from the evidence you need based on the learning goals and what they imply" (p. 51). During this session, we will analyze and determine essential standards, develop blueprints to measure essential standards, and learn how to write test items to assess essential standards.
