Menu Planning and Cycle Menu Toolkit

Feeling a little lost or confused with your menu planning for this school year? Looking for new menus and new food items? This class teaches participants the fundamental principles of menu planning including knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to plan appealing menus that meet standards and use resources effectively. Topics include menu planning fundamentals, useful menu planning tools, and addressing menu planning challenges. The class also reviews the NEW Cycle Menu Toolkit which includes: Lunch, Breakfast and BIC Menus; Food Productions Records; Recipes. The cycle menu Toolkit incorporates the USDA meal pattern requirements and offers students a wide variety of menu items. Implementng a cycle menu system saves staff time and energy, and these menus will help ensure that your students are receiving nutritionally-balanced breakfast and lunch meals.
