New Foundations #1 - Sounds All Around: Gamification for Listening and Phonological Awareness




Strand #1 of the new ELAR TEKS reads as follows: Developing and sustaining foundational language skills: listening, speaking, discussion, and thinking--oral language. Oral language development supports the sound system of the English language which is known as phonological awareness. Participants will learn fresh, new multisensory ideas to build listening, speaking, and phonological/phonemic awareness skills for emergent readers as well as struggling readers and writers of all ages. They will learn how these skills are reflected in the new TEKS and best practices for teaching them.
