Texas Dyslexia Update - Sponsored by Region 18 Special Education Department
Share
In this full-day session, veteran school attorney Dave Richards will guide you through the 2018 Dyslexia Handbook(Orange Book) to explain the interaction of the Texas dyslexia law with Section 504 and IDEA, and the process of screening, identification, evaluation and serving eligible students with dyslexia. He will also provide insights into the adult world after high school and what students with dyslexia will encounter in the workplace or as they further their education under the relatively limited protections of the adult ADA regulations. He'll also discuss dual enrollment, SAT accommodations and documentation, and the impact of disability, services and medication on entry into the armed services. Questions are encouraged.
