The purpose of this course is to prepare evaluators to recognize the importance and utility of calibration in educator observation by:
- providing an overview of calibration and inter-rater reliability, with emphasis on the requirements for the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA);
- guiding participants on a deep-dive of the T-TESS rubric;
- participation in scaffolded practice in video calibration;
- developing a timeline for calibration with best practices in mind, as well as a plan to analyze data on teacher observation;
- sharing resources that could be useful in future calibration sessions
