Share
Over the past 15 years, the words self-injury has changed. In the 1900's self-mutilation was the most common term used. In most recent years other words have been used to describe such behavior as self-harm, self-abuse, self-injury and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) or self-inflicted violence.
