Participants have the flexibility to attend on either [Day 1] or [Day 2]—choose the day that works best for you! Day 1: This session will provide participants with foundational knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), emphasizing the importance of these tools in addressing challenging student behaviors. Participants will learn the principles of behavior and explore the essential components of the FBA process. Techniques for collecting and analyzing data will be demonstrated, utilizing evidence-based practices and detailed case studies to illustrate real-world applications. Success stories and common barriers to implementation will also be discussed, with potential solutions to these barriers highlighted, showcasing best practices in developing and using FBAs. To ensure all participants, including novices, feel confident in applying these concepts, resources and checklists will be provided to maximize their success. The session will conclude by aligning these practices with current legal frameworks and policies.
