Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) DAY 2

Day 2: Building on the foundational concepts from Day 1, this session will focus on the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP). Participants will engage in hands-on experiences, including simulated behavior observations, to practice data collection and hypothesis formulation. Using evidence-based practices and detailed case studies, they will design intervention strategies tailored to meet individual student needs. These exercises will provide opportunities to link FBA findings to evidence-based BIP strategies, including preventative measures, teaching replacement behaviors, and modifying consequences. This session will also guide participants through the critical thinking process required when navigating real-world scenarios and addressing grey areas, equipping them to make informed, ethical decisions in complex situations. The session will emphasize the importance of fidelity in implementation and provide tools for monitoring and revising plans, including a self-auditing tool that participants can use to identify areas of growth and support their continued development beyond the training.
