TALA Academy - ELAR

Texas Adolescent Literacy Academy: Content Area Instructional Routines to Support Academic Literacy and Assessment and Instructional Routines for Reading Intervention. This 2-day academy is designed for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English language arts teachers. They will learn to implement a consistent set of evidence-based, comprehension and vocabulary instructional routines within the context of their content lessons. In addition, ELA teachers will learn to assess students' fluency using the Texas Middle School Fluency Assessment and to implement literacy instruction for struggling adolescent readers in need of strategic and/or intensive intervention.
