ESF Overview Training and TIP Development (2-Day)




The Effective Schools Framework describes the best practices effective schools and districts engage in on a daily basis and provides the basis for continuous school growth and improvement.


Important Workshop Information:


This workshop will provide a 2-day training of the Effective Schools Framework. The session will develop participant’s understanding of campus essential actions and key practices, and district commitments within the ESF framework. Real-world exemplars of best practices in action in Texas schools will be provided.

This training is the first step to ensure campuses and districts leave with the knowledge, tools, and resources necessary to engage in the continuous school improvement process. Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP) development and implementation guidance and school improvement interventions and requirements will also be provided. 

Day 1:

  • ESF Introduction
  • ESF Self-Assessment: Campus Data Reflection
  • ESF Self-Assessment: Evidence and artifact collection
  • Essential Actions deep dives
  • ESF Self-Assessment: Analysis and Focus Area Identification 

Day 2:

  • ESF Self-Assessment: Barrier Analysis
  • District Commitment Theory of Action
  • TIP requirements, planning and development
  • ESF Diagnostic & Long-term Planning
  • School Improvement Pathway: Next Steps

**BYOD - Bring your own device.
This is a working session using many ESF templates and tools. 

*DCSI/Principal Supervisor and Campus Principal must attend both days to receive credit. Other leadership team members are encouraged to attend.

*LEAs and campuses that have been rated D or F trough the State Accountability System and campuses identified for Comprehensive, Targeted or Additional Target Support under ESSA are required to engage in the ESF continuous improvement process.
