Limited face to face space available. This will be a series of 6 workshops that will include:
- Transition 101, Sept 23, 2020 or Dec. 16, 2020Investigate all of the components and age requirements with transition. **Guest presenter on the legal requirements about guardianship**
- Let's Assess for Transition! October 14, 2020 - Evaluate, practice, critique, conduct, and take all types of transition assessments in order to interpret the data. This is allowing for the constructing of transition goals. Walk away with a toolkit of assessments to use with your students both paper-based and virtually
- What's with Goal Writing for Transition? November 11, 2020 - Investigate the difference between annual and post-secondary goals. Create annual and post-secondary transition goals. Use Concepts to draw conclusions with cases studies. Practice writing goals based on data collected.
- Community Experiences/Work Based Learning, January 13, 2021 - Explore ways in which students are able to generalize skills and knowledge that they are learning in a classroom or home environment into the community environment. Walk away with a binder of activities for community and work-based learning.
- Coordinated Set of Activities: February 10, 2021- Distinguish the areas of specially designed instruction needed to ensure movement to the student’s postsecondary goals. Analyze the TEKS that allow for transition evidence to be gathered to show movement to postsecondary goals.
- Summary of Performance: March 2, 2021 - Identify what is needed when a student is exiting or graduating from their secondary education. Analyze great and poor case studies and put together a strong SOP.
