This workshop will provide an understanding of key points of family law as it applies to school-aged children through an interactive presentation designed to assist administrators and “frontline” personnel who regularly encounter these issues face to face with the following:
- Determining the validity of temporary and final court orders (including Temporary Restraining Orders and Rule 11 Agreements);
- Understanding parents’ court-ordered rights to make educational decisions for their child(ren) and orders for possession and access in divorce decrees, establishment orders, suits affecting the parent-child relationship, and modification orders;
- A discussion regarding orders related to Child Protective Services involvement;
- How to deal with issues that arise when court orders are silent or vague as to certain parental rights; and
