Providing an Effective Migrant Education Program That Produces Desired Outcomes, presented by Idalia IbaƱez and Nez Paniagua
Empowering Migratory Parents

The training will focus the essential elements and best practices that lead to effective implementation of the Migrant Education Program (MEP) that will result in desired outcomes. Presenters will provide an overview of MEP requirements, MEP compliance, available resources, and best practices.  Participants will have an opportunity to network with each other and share their best practices for successful MEP implementation.

Important Workshop Information:

During this virtual training, LEA MEP staff will discuss a definition of parental engagement that is inclusive and culturally responsive to migratory families; learn strategies and resources to share with parents and empower them during the "new normal" with at-home learning; and explore resources available to support student learning. Many interactive activities for this training will involve the use of Google Drive and will function best in the Chrome web browser.

Participants must join using a desktop computer, laptop, or Chromebook.
