Best Practices for STAAR Essay Instruction




This writing series focuses on helping instructors locate the essential writing traits within the state writing rubric. Moreover, the training will focus on developing both emergent writers and their writing styles in order to leverage writing scores.

Important Workshop Information:


Participants will learn how best to support students who struggle with the STAAR essay. The training will focus on building organization, developing ideas, and executing effective conventions within an essay, as outlined in the STAAR rubrics. Participants will walk away with effective writing strategies that will transfer beautifully into the classroom.
