Title I, Part A Required Element #1 Training for Comprehensive Needs Assessments (CNA)
TEA Session: Collaborative Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CCNA)

ESSA requires campuses using a targeted assistance or schoolwide program to develop a comprehensive plan that "is based on a comprehensive needs assessment of the entire school that takes into account information on the academic achievement of children in relation to the challenging State academic standards, particularly the needs of those children who are failing or are at-risk of failing, to meet the challenging State academic standards and any other factors as determined by the local educational agency". Participants will learn strategies for implementing these requirements and maintaining appropriate documentation.

Important Workshop Information:

The Collaborative Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CCNA) is a means for LEAs to work together, collaboratively with a common purpose to ensure federal programs compliance and coordination of federal programs.

The tool will provide an efficient use of time rather than duplication of effort; ensure that the CCNA is a comprehensive process rather than an event; and establish a culture of continuous improvement to maximize the use of federal funds.
