All Things AT: The Basics of Assistive Technology Assessment and Implementation




Assistive technology enables students with disabilities to access the curriculum, increase independence and participate actively and meaningfully in education and life activities including. Assistive Technology provided in schools may consist of AT devices and /or AT services.  It is crucial for multidisciplinary teams to utilize data-driven and research-based approaches to determine most appropriate and individualized AT for each student.

  •  When is an AT evaluation needed?
  •  How is an AT evaluation done?
  •  What types of assessments can be used
  •  What is the result?

This workshop would provide a robust and rigorous outline of the foundations of assistive technology for Speech-Language Pathologist, Evaluation Personnel, Teachers (general ed and special ed) and all related service providers.
