Participants will gain an understanding of one activity within the Differentiated Monitoring and Support (DMS) system. The purpose of the self- assessment is to assist LEA leadership teams in evaluating and improving their special education program. The self- assessment is intended to engage leadership teams through a proactive approach by addressing special education compliance and improving student performance


Important Workshop Information:


This workshop is designed to assist LEA leadership teams in evaluating and improving SPED programs.  This annual self-assessment is intended to help the leadership team take a proactive approach by addressing SPED requirements and improving student performance.  Based on results, the leadership team will be able to report, identify and prioritize areas of strengths and opportunities of improvement. Based on self-assessment, the team will then be able to develop a strategic support plan.   

The leadership team is composed of a broad representation of stakeholders and should be representative of the size and demographics of the LEA.
