How to Build a Successful Robotics Club (Self-Paced Online Course)

When people think robots, they think robots crashing into each other in an attempt to destroy one another’s team build.  However, robotics emphasizes many STEM fluency skills to orchestrate a well-designed, well-built and programmed robot that is thoroughly documented by a cohesive team of a collection of individuals.  Robotics is for every student of every ability level; a team just needs guidance and support to show them what success looks like.  This training will take you through the processes to building a successful robotics club that will seamlessly integrate into your school culture and become a vehicle for STEM outreach.

Note: This is an online self-paced course.  While it may have a different end date, once registered, you will receive an email with a link to the google classroom to begin your coursework.  Once all assignments are submitted, you will receive credit.

Important Workshop Information:

This session will be a three hour introduction to how to build a successful robotics club.  We will look into the different options to start a club, ways to document the process during the season, resources to access to build an understanding of robotics along with curriculum to support both in class and after school learning,  along with materials to purchase and technology requirements based on competition needs.

We will also go into the fundraising, sustainability, and budgetary needs of your club.

This will be an asynchronous training.

Once registration and payment is complete, participants will be sent an email with directions on how to complete the course via google classroom.

It is encouraged to finish the course within three weeks to ensure internalization of the material, but you will have access this course for the fiscal year, then it will be archived.
