VOLUME 2 (Follow-Up Session)


Supporting Students Who Struggle

Instead of hearing your students say “I Can’t Do Math”, turn their comments into “Math Ain’t That Hard”.  Developing math concepts so students have flexibility and solution choices leads to increased success in class and on the STAAR test.  If you struggle with supporting and teaching students the “alternative strategies” (Gen. Ed. RTI, Special Ed. or Inclusion), these are the sessions for you!      


Important Session Information:

This session will further develop the various calculation strategies explored in the first session of M.A.T.H.  Not only will participants leave with flexibility in how they approach addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, we will also explore the models, manipulatives and representations that are essential to deep understanding.  Materials and activities experienced during the session will be ready to use the very next day in the classroom.  We highly encourage special ed inclusion teachers and general ed math teachers to attend as a team to maximize alignment of instruction.
