Meeting the Needs of VI Students in the General Ed. Classroom

This workshop provides information and training for teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff who work with students with visual impairments. The primary focus of this training will be those students who are served in general education classes, inclusion classes, and resource rooms. Instructional issues related to students with low vision will be addressed, as well as those related to students who are tactual learners, including braille readers. Information will also be provided on the roles and responsibilities of those who serve these students, some resources to consider, and special issues related to mobility, safety, equipment, and behavior.
