Standards Based IEP for Evaluators & Coaching on Plaafps & Goals




Special Education PD is open to educators of all roles serving the diverse needs of all students, unless otherwise specified in workshop description.

Important Session Information:


Location is Wharton ISD, but open to all districts! 

The focus of this session is to learn about the Standards-Based IEP Process for Evaluators and the connection to the full and individual evaluation (FIE). The primary focus of the training is on role of the multidisciplinary evaluation team and the FIE essential elements to support the development of the student's present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFP), drafting measurable annual goals (and short-term objectives/benchmarks if necessary), and ensuring data collection and progress reporting. Participants will understand the importance of these components (FIE, PLAAFP statement, and annual goals) and how their alignment results in a well developed program for students with disabilities. The intended audience for this training is special education evaluation personnel, speech language pathologists (SLPs) and others who are responsible for evaluating a student and writing the report.

Bring the following items to the training:  2 FIEs, 2-4 plaafp samples and goals that go with them.  You are welcome to bring more.
