TIL: Materials Internalization & Alignment (MIA)
TIL: Materials Internalization & Alignment (MIA)

In Leverage Leadership 2.0, Paul Bambrick-Santoyo says that planning is a leadership lever that can help in every sort of school, from the lowest performing to the highest. Focusing on lesson alignment ensures there is a shared understanding around what makes for quality instructional planning, and is a natural extension of data-driven instruction: teach students what they need, not what they already know. Strong plans link together all of a student’s learning to make it rigorous, meaningful, and memorable.

Important Session Information:

Effective teacher internalization of HQIM units and lessons leads to high-quality, impactful instruction that is grounded in the research-based instructional strategies (RBIS). The purpose of TIL MIA is to build the capacity of school leaders to invest and coach teachers on the effective internalization of HQIM units and lessons. Additionally, leaders will experience first hand the impact of writing exemplars, using success criteria, practicing aggressive monitoring, and delivering a show call.
