This session provides participants with a user-friendly guide (available in English and Spanish), which was created to support phonological awareness (PA) skill development. Participants will learn how PA skills support reading and which TX-KEA measures benefit from targeted PA instruction. The practical activities target skills across the phonological awareness continuum in as little as 10 minutes per day.
Special Note: Participants must have the teacher resource book, Phonological Awareness: Instructional Activities for Use Throughout the Day! (English OR Spanish)* to participate fully in this session.
As a part of the training, participants will receive a grant-funded copy of the Phonological Awareness: Instructional Activities for Use Throughout the Day! booklet to use during the session. After registration, participants will be contacted with a survey to indicate their language selection for the booklet and to share mailing address information.
