LeDerick Horne will present "A Path to Pride and Success." As a child, LeDerick Horne could not read or even recognize the alphabet. He was labeled “neurologically impaired” and separated from general education students. Today, he is a poet, disability rights activist, motivational speaker, and he serves on the board of directors for the non-profit Eye to Eye, which pairs middle school students with learning disabilities and ADHD with college and high school mentors that have similar labels. His work focuses on improving the outcomes of students with disabilities. He is also the coauthor of Empowering Students with Hidden Disabilities: A Path to Pride and Success.

Patrick Schwarz, Ph.D. will present, "Reimagining Education for All: Making Learning Work for Everyone." Considering all the research and publications about best practices for inclusion, Patrick identifies teaching, leadership and other strategies that need to go and those that need to stay. The areas he will discuss will be belonging, making learning work for everyone, leadership provided by teachers and their teams, learner-centered supports, teachers as innovators, classroom, unit and lesson supports, collaboration and transition.
