Taking and Analyzing Running Records

A running record allows teachers to closely observe and record students’ oral reading behavior to plan instruction. Participants will learn how to use standard markings to take running records, analyze the running record for accuracy and comprehension to identify instructional and independent reading levels, then use the information gathered to identify students’ needs to plan instruction.
