The Foundations of Instructional Coaching for Increasing Teacher Capacity

Explore the varying roles of the coach (observing, modeling, supporting teachers, implementing video coaching, team teaching, collaborating, conducting workshops, and organizing resources) through the use of both a student-focused and a collaborative problem solving model. Build your knowledge of how an instructional coach supports best practices, as well as foster a teamwork approach with the building administration to create a culture of continuous teacher learning. Frameworks and protocols will be shared for each of the roles of the instructional coach. Participants will also receive resources for establishing goals and creating coaching cycles that address the weekly, semester, and/or yearly goals.
